The magazine "New World" in USA wrote this about "Saajve Dans"

"There`s only one other performer who comes close to doing what this band does, and that`s Mari Boine. What both Norwegian bands have in common is roots in the Sami traditions of Lapland, but while Boine takes a folk/pop
approach, this ensemble goes the jazz route.

In a unique fusion of the ancient style of joikking with an ambient, rambling jazz improvisation. The results are quite successful, and the raspy, droning quality of Fjellheim`s joikking meshes carily with the band`s saxophones, drums, bass and keyboards.

Touches of wood-winds, bag-pipes and some harp-like synth lines add mysticism and a strange gentleness.

While a few tracks edge into aimless noodling, most of the songs here have solid folk roots and some have a wild adventurousness that equals anything being done in Europe today.

The Ensemble lacks the superficial flash of some of the bigger stars of Scandinavian folk-roots right now, but it has far more intelligence and daring that almost any other."
